Richard Purchase has considerable industrial relations and business management experience within a range of industries. He has a recognised expertise in organisational development affecting large numbers of employees subject to TUPE.
Working alongside employers he demonstrates a sound knowledge of Best Value, Performance Management techniques, employee motivation, recruitment processes, marketing and the delivery of cultural change within a service environment. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, he has a reputation for being able to “make things happen.” As an experienced trainer, he can “put across” complex issues in an easy and understandable way.
He has been a Chairman of an NHS Trust and previously was a non-executive Director of a Strategic Health Authority and a DHA, with leading roles in strategic planning, primary and social care development as well as in the personnel and human resource challenges facing the NHS in addition to Chairing the Audit Committee. With an excellent knowledge and understanding of governance issues he regularly advises Boards on best practice, remuneration or effective operating structures.
