Charity training day success
19/12/2011

Learning pivotal leadership skills, whilst having fun and raising money for a good cause was the order of the day at Kent Science Park on 13th December 2011.

Insight HR & Management Consultancy delivered a fun and interactive training day for their chosen charity Project 4 Africa, with Kent Science Park providing the facilities for the day free of charge. The day raised just under £500 for the project, which is currently trying to raise £25,000 to build a new maternity unit in Malawi.

Those attending the day learnt about a variety of leadership styles, techniques for managing conflict and other useful skills.

Hazel Kerry from Insight HR said of the day: “It was an excellent day with people learning valuable skills in leadership and having fun. Due to the interest we are intending on holding another similar day in early 2012.”

Jen Francis, a participant on the day commented: “The day was extremely useful both as a refresher course for existing managers and as an introduction for those taking on new management responsibilities. The trainers made the day fun as well as informative, and the fact that it was all to raise money for charity made it even better.”

James Speck, Site Director at Kent Science Park said: “We were glad that Kent Science Park could help out with the day by providing the facilities for Insight HR to conduct the training. Project4Africa is raising money and awareness for an extremely worthwhile cause, and we hope that days like this can help to raise their profile.”
